The Philly Egotist’s 2018 Local Holiday Shopping Guide

Well we were hoping to send our staff photographer out to grab snaps of all these spots but he’s busy taking care of his one year old so we figure plugging all these local vendor’s and local businesses instagrams will give Philly shoppers more insight while shopping for their friends and loved ones this season. Feel free contact us if we’re missing something really cool! Please keep in mind that it’s too obviously too late for shipping so please don’t bug them about that and just go check out these awesome local spots!

Sure they’ve got sweet swag like this here mug and a few T’s but keep your loved one looking good by snagging a gift certificate to Franklin’s Barber Shop, one of the best branded barber shops around! And grab a tasty cider across the street at Kurant while you’re in the hood!

For the past few years the two dudes who run Spectrum Skateboards work with artists who have ties to Philly and release a limited amount of decks every six months or so. This time they’ve teamed up with the super sonic Scott Albrecht who you had an amazing show at Art in The Age awhile back. This one won’t last long and is a great piece for the wall!

Stepping into Yowie is sort of like being in a Goddard film. Lots of super inspiring and clever pieces. It’s too late to order for Xmas but we recommend you check out her store on S4th just South of South St!

You’ll be greeted with smiling faces at South St.’s best clothing boutique P’s & Q’s which is consistently stocked with the dopest gear including locally based Paratodo who work with a charity every season. This year they worked with All Hands and Hearts and actually went to Puerto Rico to volunteer in the aid of hurricane Maria.

Why not grab a gift that lasts forever? Truehand carefully curates their artists to make sure they have the best around. Now operating out of an huge old church in the center of Fishtown, you should contact them for one of these gift certificates and you’ll recognize their work from so many of the local entities they’ve branded for. Make sure to stop by Reanimator a few hundred feet down the street for some awesome coffee and atmosphere!

Ok get off Amazon now and get those little ones something at Fishtown’s Minnowlane! Super cute stuff along the Frankford Ave. corridor with a knowledgeable staff who have kids of their own so everything is tried and tested.

Also up on Frankford Ave. in Fishtown is Vestige which is arguably the best spot in town to grab a unique gift for the lovely ladies in your life and there’s some other cool home stuff that everyone will love.

There will be tacos!

A gift certificate to Lighbox would be pretty rad for any film buffs in your life! This place shows everything from classics to super obscure films from around the world.
