The U.S. Center for SafeSport is a non-profit organization focused on ending all forms of abuse in sport. We endeavor to make athlete well-being the centerpiece of the nation’s sports culture through abuse prevention, education, and accountability.

JOB SUMMARY

Looking for an experienced Graphic Designer who specializes in manual and/or publication design for educational purposes. This is a project-based contract position on the Marketing and Communications team to produce an approximate 80-page manual that will allow sport organizations to document and implement a 4-step process to help identify and address concerns related to athlete safety and wellbeing.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Work collaboratively with Marketing team and educational cross-functional teams to ensure a consistent, integrated publication
Illustrate concepts in design and manipulation if design properties, such as type size, font style, spacing, columns and placement.
Present planning concepts by studying relevant information and materials.
Translate information into designs that are visually enticing, easy to understand, well organized and visually impactful
Create graphic presentations that guide audiences through complex subject matters
Help shape and refine aesthetic of materials to create a comprehensive look and feel to communicate educational and learning objectives

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual arts, or related field
3+ years of formal graphic design experience
MUST HAVE experience designing large manuals and/or publications; preferably in an educational setting (need to see strong portfolio examples)
Experience using InDesign to create high-quality large format interactive PDFs
Infographic design experience
Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel
Demonstrable layout and graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
